Austin Mopeds specializes in pre-1985 European mopeds in addition to selling moped parts, moped accessories, and doing quality moped repairs.
WHY
We are re-introducing a love of mopeds to the south. Mopeds have been a part of American transportation since the early 1960s and even earlier in Europe. These compact, yet powerful bikes were not always as cult oriented or cliquey as they are perceived to be today. In the United States, many people had mopeds as youths living in urban cities or even on farms. Nowadays, everyone has a scooter. Cool? Sure. Convenient? Kind of. Predictable? Absolutely. Scooters are bulky, expensive, and more susceptible to theft. A moped is small. Not as small as a bicycle, but normally under 100 pounds. Forget about circling the parking lot at school or work, just pull up to the bike rack and lock it up. Mopeds are convenient, easy to ride, easy to maintain, and easy to fall in love with.
Currently we specialize in mopeds manufactured before 1985. Because we handle only vintage mopeds, each and every one is thoroughly inspected and reconditioned to insure your moped spends more time taking you places and little to no time being repaired.
Since each moped is held until this procedure can be completed, we ensure a long-lasting relationship between you and your new moped. And if for some strange reason your moped does not perform accordingly, we will repair it under our 30 day 100% guarantee.
Listed below are the Standard Reconditioning procedures that we perform.
- Complete engine rebuild
- New or Rebuilt carburetor
- New Cables (brakes, throttle, starter, speedometer)
- New Brake Pads
- New Tires and Tubes
- Light-bulb replacement
- New Fuel Valve
- De-carbonized exhaust and Cylinder head
- Scrubbed and Polished to a shine
General Information
All of our mopeds are custom built on a per-customer basis. The engines are fully rebuilt from the ground up with new parts. Our mopeds are next to new, while keeping the original aesthetic.
Price Range
Our general price range is between $800 - $3500, but can go up depending customizations.
Warranty
We warranty every moped we sell 100% for the first 30 days. After that we can offer a full year warranty which will be assessed on a bike to bike basis.
